About this font

Lapture is based on the Leipziger Antiqua by Albert Kapr, released in 1971 by the East German foundry Typoart. It has been digitized, extended and carefully redesigned by Tim Ahrens, preserving the warmth and rough texture of the original metal fonts. A unique feature of this font is the introduction of gothic shapes into a latin typeface. As Kapr explains, “the basic concept is to string together narrow white hexagons as counters and inter-letter spaces, defined by vertical stems and triangular serifs. The interior spaces are at least as important as the strokes that make up the characters.”

League Gothic

About this font

League Gothic is our revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. The company went bankrupt in 1993. And since the original typeface was created before 1923, the typeface is in the public domain.

About The League of Moveable Type

The first free & open-source type foundry, the League is a hand-selected group of typographers interested in propelling the movement into the professional playing field. By doing so, they hope to do more than offer a free set of high-quality fonts–they hope to revolutionize web typography altogether.

About this font

Proxima Nova (2005) is a complete reworking of Proxima Sans (1994). The original six fonts (three weights with italics) have been expanded to 42 full-featured OpenType fonts. Proxima Nova straddles the gap between typefaces like Futura and Akzidenz Grotesk. The result is a hybrid combining humanistic proportions with a somewhat geometric appearance.
