Juliet Shen

Juliet Shen (MA in Typeface Design, University of Reading) is a typeface designer and artist living in Seattle, Washington. She designed the typeface Bullen, as well as custom fonts for Oxford University Press’s early learning publications and the Lushootseed-speaking Tulalip Tribes of Washington. Her dissertation, “Searching for Morris Fuller Benton,” was published by Sherwin Beach Press in a handset letterpress edition. Shen taught typography for 17 years at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts, and served on SOTA’s Board of Directors for five years. Her fine art has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and is in the Tacoma Art Museum’s permanent collection.
